Bicycle Crunch
Text cues are the instruction
No demonstration video yet. Kalyra will not use AI-generated imagery as form instruction — demonstrations arrive only as reviewed performer footage or validated animation. Until then, the step-by-step cues and setup checks on this page are the complete instruction.
⚠ High-stakes movement: any future video for this exercise requires professional safety review before release — Kalyra will not publish unchecked demonstrations of anchored, jumping, or pregnancy-sensitive movements.
- Crunch-pattern movementsKalyra takes a conservative approach and currently holds back crunching movements during pregnancy and the postpartum recovery window — practice commonly adjusts these, and evidence is still evolving.
- Back-lying positionsKalyra takes a conservative approach and currently holds back exercises lying flat on your back (for example, after the first trimester of pregnancy).
- Rotating under loadKalyra takes a conservative approach and currently holds back twisting movements under load later in pregnancy.
Form cues
- Fingers at the temples (never pulling the neck)
- Rotate rib-to-rib as the opposite knee comes in
- Extend the other leg long and low, not fast
Common errors
- ✗ Yanking the head forward
- ✗ Churning speed with no rotation
How Kalyra programs it
Builds trunk stability (flexion) so the rest of your training transfers to real movement — carried with strict volume caps.
Typically 2–4 sets of 10–16 reps per side.
